Vacation!!
my 3 weeks in europe in a nutshell:
-flew from toronto to vienna with a connecting flight in amsterdam: 9 hours total - given the 10pm take-off time and 6 hour time difference, i was quite rested and had no trouble adjusting
-Vienna, Austria: 5 days of royal palaces, gorgeous views from mountain peaks, underground rivers, parks, beaches and beautiful architecture..also one of the cleanest cities i've ever been too..the best part was seeing my cousins and aunts/uncles though =)
-Munich, Germany: 3 hour walking tour + 2 hour walk to and from the english gardens to our hotel made my feet hurt but i loved the river surfers, disney castle, WWII history and beer stories..favourite food to eat in munich: giant pretzels and ham buns!
-Heidelberg, Germany: beautiful little town that overlooks pretty river..yummy chocolate..also had a ruined castle with a random pharmacy museum = very cool..honour system buses too =)
-Koln, Germany: several beautiful churches, birkenstock central, lovely river and outdoor shopping centre..also loved the random street performers including a guy with a grand piano..lindt chocolate factory with the best white chocolate ice cream ever..speaking of ice cream, ever heard of spaghetti ice cream?
-Belgium: stayed in Antwerp, visited the capital Brussels and visited medieval town Brugges..had amazing belgium waffles with strawberries and whipped cream and authentic hot chocolate everyday and belgium's specialty double-fried french fries..also, loved the tintin store, cobblestone roads, haagen dazs restaurant!
-Amsterdam, Holland: last stop..lived on a boat for 2 days: it was squishy but breakfast was yummy..toured the red light district and visited the historical anne frank house..tons of bridges over canals and almost got run down by bikes and vespas
overall: a wonderful trip with a wonderful friend =)
